Captain Meathook by thorin111 Captain Meathook by thorin111
A Quick Sketch piece of a certain character belonging to a gentlemen of the arts of old toonsworth and silly symphonies and merriment, A gentleman i call 'Mister Crowley', or it 'Mister Chobatsu',Would be far more suitable.

I wish to commemorate this piece to the many wonderful times of debate and discussion we have had in the past regarding to concept and design reaching from video games, cartoons and perhaps a few much less silly and quite serious.

but thankfully few.

Captain Meathooks Belongs to "Mister Chobatsu" :iconatrox-c:

Quite the savvy fellow.

They should call me Mr. Rad, Because I'm feeling RAD-ical, hoho'

Hahahaha XD I'm glad you're rad!

Yeah, I have been very busy with work lately. Coming home in the evening and want to chill out. I also haven't drawn so much lately (my productivity sank with finishing school XD)

A toast for us :dummy:

But of course i'm rad, I'm super bad at..being rad..

I'm a baaaaad man,

But i'm glad that you're still taking your steps out into that great big world, your productivity may sink but may your creativity never die,

Like imagine even if you go blind, at least you have seen the greatest things life have to offer,

Schatten-Phoenix Featured By Owner Mar 22, 2013  Hobbyist Digital Artist

Look at that magnificent beard, and grizzly look - looks like a guy I saw once at the masjid :D It's good to see new work from you brother - how have you been?
thorin111 Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
You mean you saw someone who had a pegleg and two rusty scimitar blades for hands? :O

It is sincerely manners to never judge a man by his appearance, but that would be quite hard i must confess

Ah, alhamdulillah, brother'
Your words and your eye brings me joy, i am reminded and thankful to be alive in such times.

Good or bad, as long as there's good friends and better awliyas
Kamal-Q Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2013  Hobbyist Photographer
 Nah, just one with a beard and face like the one you've drawn, which is close enough to having a canon pegleg and scimitars for hands, isn't it?

He's a lovely fellow, though, always smiling  Not sure if they're popular there, but he's a part of the Tablighi movement

Your turban'd head and bearded countenance reminds me that its good to have bonds from around the world, even if the bonds are made over a digital signal.

Alhamdu'lillah - it's a blessed time to be alive (every time is), the sad part is that so few count their blessings.

Ah, Well my apologies if i may prove clueless on the movement, allow me chance to learn a bit more from my family before i comment on that,

but for the rest, indeed', As there are as many ways to god as there are souls on earth, so is the fact that perhaps there are as many ways to nurture a healthy and acquainted association with the world,

and as you said, even if they are simply a digital signal, but it perhaps that because it is a digital signal, we should still remember to be careful.

And in following that, as a folk of pirated knowledge once said; "not all sharks are in the water"

They're not bad people, though I wouldn't commend joining, nor condemn it.

The place of God is in the heart, and a person has to discover that on their own, groups and shaykhs can help make the path clear(er)...but in the end we're on our own on the journey. Then again, it's tricky, with the ego putting up all sorts of traps...we often need a another to humble us. God sent the Prophet (saws) for a reason.

Hard to know where the predator and prey lay as the digital thicket sways.

But I take you as a friend, brother :D

A thousand apologies, to you and to those in respect, i never meant to imply there were 'possibly' bad people, apologies apologies.

Indeed, but perhaps.. even then on that last stretch of mile, i don't suppose it's entirely fair to say we would be entirely alone.

One is never alone, never.
Whether it's his/her love of the shaykh, his/her love of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and eternally, his/her love of Allah

and their love for him/her.

Hoho, closer than your jugular vein and the very breath leaving your lips.

And indeed, the Prophets (may god be pleased with them all), hath came to deliver upon warning to message, upon speculation to demonstration, all for the betterment for mankind, one mercy, one sacrifice at a time.

But as promised, the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was the last prophet, so no more prophets, but we have awliyas, thankfully, teachers among us.

Whether a major one or a simple medium, but we also have awliyahs in all of us, the heart that beats and dances to it's sad song, wanting to go back to the heavens.

And i definitely take you as a friend myself, my friend.
And if not, a brother
and if not, a fellow human being.

And that is more than enough.
Kamal-Q Featured By Owner Mar 1, 2013  Hobbyist Photographer
No need for apologies, man :)

Alhamdu'Lillah for what we've been blessed with...its getting rarer, all the more reason to be grateful.

I do genuinely consider you a friend, insha'Allah all goes well with you and what you intend. Maybe we'll meet in this life, if not, then in the next. Hopefully my afterlife is air conditioned :D

Ooohhh, cool! he looks way more grizzly and rough than how I first designed him. I love the little details, like the missing buttons and dinged-up swords; they show he's been though his fair share of brutal battles. I dig the cannon leg, I don't even remember if I drew him with it, but it feels like he should have always had it! XD
thorin111 Featured By Owner Feb 24, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Ah, And i am majorly Appeased and pleased that you approve,

Simply following your details as well, i thought i'd try and make the pegleg a bit 'chunky' and sausage shaped (meat.. hoho)

and tried to give it a 'brace knee cap' to make it seem as if he might as well spruce it up while he's stuck with it'
DIdn't expect it to seem like a cannon, but.. i suppose, that can work

Quite so easy to imagine a few dialogue chatters whilst dishing out some painful punishment though,

words like:
"Immer' gonna slice yeh so fine, yeh won't be able to feed a guppy!"
"Me favorite cut? the whole thing!"

And perhaps;

"Look what crawled outta tha' meat-locker', at first meetings (and impressions) with your hero (or heroine) of your choice.
